Downstairs, Fräulein Buttermeiserl reinvents the humble bread and butter: thick, cheeky and never the same twice. Plus good coffee, Kaiserschmarrn and, even in the afternoon, a glass of Gin Elisabeth N°1.

In the Salzkammergut, a true local calls a slice of bread and butter a “Buttermeiserl”. Like the mattress for the holy butter of God. We spread the holy butter of God on your bread and tell you tall tales while we do it.
The B holds a very special place and may be a bit smeary rather than dreary. Now order something nice and enjoy it before it's too late. Because you shouldn't talk on an empty brain.
Our bread comes from the baking hands of our good friends, the Nahmer family. Now and then we invite a guest baker to show off our fine selection even more. If you'd like to learn to bake bread, get in touch. We regularly run cooking classes that truly celebrate our bread culture.
